Brenda Balinquit
Pulpit Minister
Brenda Balinquit is originally from Bradley, Illinois. She graduated in 1997 from Eastern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and moved to El Paso, Texas to pursue her career. At this time, she accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. Her time with Socorro School district included jobs as lifeguard, substitute teacher, and finally full-time 2nd and 3rd grade teacher.
During her 10 years of teaching, she had the opportunity to be a part of Gospel Ministries to Children (as an elementary Good News Club host) and Wyldlife (as a middle school volunteer leader). She also began to learn about missions during this time, including serving in Mexico and joining short term mission trips to Africa. In 2008, she moved to the Philippines as a full time missionary.
She currently serves in Butuan City as coordinator of the local Dream Release Project, a ministry of Hope Centers International. She and her husband, Pong, serve together and love seeing students realize that education is more than just a dream, but a reality. Their hope is to continue encouraging students in finding their gifts, talents, and purpose God has for each of them. When she is not working with the Dream Release students, she enjoys reading and spending time with family. She is grateful to be a part of the Women’s Ministry and Pulpit Ministry at TJFM.
